Tool Concept
The KX 1 uses non-dressable hard finishing tools only. They consist of a hardened steel body with ground base profile and a galvanically applied single layer of CBN abrasives. To divide the stock removal, a roughing and a finishing tool are employed consecutively in one single set-up. Cylindrical grinding worms are primarily used for continuous generating grinding.
As an alternative, single or multi-set CBN profile grinding wheels can also be employed, typically when full-form grinding is required.

Features
The KX 1 gear center is designed for hard gear finishing with non-dressable tools by continuous generating grinding as well as discontinuous grinding or single indexing. The machine is of extremely rigid construction, easy and quick to set up and very well suited for integrating automation systems.
The machine axes A and C are designed as a digital direct drives using synchronous technology. The machine is equiped with a Siemens SINUMERIK 840 D control with a user-friendly operator panel.
Benefits of the KX 1 include:
- Short processing times due to high grinding performance
- Low tool cost as a result of an efficient tool concept
- Optimal per piece cost
