Nondressable coroning tool technology is designed for hard finishing gears. There are two types of tools:
-Coroning gears (with external tooth profiles)
-Coroning rings (with internal tooth profiles)
-
Design:
Hardened steel body with ground base profile and a single layer of CBN crystals galvanically plated and nickel bonded, with varying grit size depending on the grinding application.
-
Profile forms determined by gear data, i.e. information from a workpiece drawing, a mathematical description, or a coordinate representation.
-
KAPP guarantees form accuracy throughout the life of plating. Achievable form tolerances conform to the requirements of the automotive and aircraft industry.
-
KAPP coroning tools provide optimum cutting performance and wear resistance throughout the life of each CBN plating and a minimum number of parts per plating can be calculated.
-
Re-plated tool base bodies retain original specifications and performance characteristics.
-
The stock removal action can be divided into rough and finish operations applying tools of different diamond grit sizes.
-
Coroning gears may be face mounted on cylindrical, expanding studs and coroning rings on cylindrical bores to assure excellent locating accuracy and therefore minimal diameter and face runout.
