  1. Nondressable coroning tool technology is designed for hard finishing gears. There are two types of tools:
-Coroning gears (with external tooth profiles)
-Coroning rings (with internal tooth profiles)

  2. Design:
Hardened steel body with ground base profile and a single layer of CBN crystals galvanically plated and nickel bonded, with varying grit size depending on the grinding application.

  3. Profile forms determined by gear data, i.e. information from a workpiece drawing, a mathematical description, or a coordinate representation.

  4. KAPP guarantees form accuracy throughout the life of plating. Achievable form tolerances conform to the requirements of the automotive and aircraft industry.

  5. KAPP coroning tools provide optimum cutting performance and wear resistance throughout the life of each CBN plating and a minimum number of parts per plating can be calculated.

  6. Re-plated tool base bodies retain original specifications and performance characteristics.

  7. The stock removal action can be divided into rough and finish operations applying tools of different diamond grit sizes.

  8. Coroning gears may be face mounted on cylindrical, expanding studs and coroning rings on cylindrical bores to assure excellent locating accuracy and therefore minimal diameter and face runout.
